If the camera has been setup using a fixed IP-Address, but e-mails are not send out, it is possible this is due to a missing DNS-Address.
Make sure you have filled in an IP-Address, Subnet mask, Gateway, but also a DNS-Address. Without a DNS-address, e-mail will not be send out.
Usually, it is sufficiant to fill in the router's IP-Address at 'Primary DNS Server'. At 'secondary DNS server, you can fill in a DNS-Address which is in use by your ISP.

Vilar is primary intended for internal use where the IP-address needs to be unique. This check-up is also active when external IP-addresses are used.
A solution for this is DynDNS.

Because of the different disk formats that are possible outside Vilar, the software has set a boundary of 2Gb per file.
For example, for FAT disks there is a file limit of 4Gb.
If you really want to record longer with the camera, you can always bring down the quality of the image a notch.

When using the default settings (320x240 and average image quality) the framerate of the image (using a local connection) is 30 frames. The exact framerate depends on your network configuration. If you increase the size or quality of the image the framerate will decrease.
If the camera is viewed with an external/internet connection the framerate will depend on the upload of the connect.

This is caused by the settings of the camera and the environment in which it has been installed. The camera will turn on the infrared LEDs if there is not enough light. As soon as the amount of lightis up to level (by using the infrared function) the infrared LEDs will be turned off. The camera is at a point where it is on the edge of either LEDs on or LEDs off. This problem can be solved as follows:
Download the latest firmware and installe this version according to the instructions.
Then change these settings:
- Open your web browser (for instance Internet Explorer) and go to the setup page of your camera, as explained in the manual.
- Click 'Setup'.
- Click 'Image Setting' in the left menu.
- Near 'Light up threshold' you can indicate under which conditions the infrared LEDs should be turned on. Select 0 to disable the infrared LEDs. Select 1 will result in the LEDs turning on only when it is completely dark, 10 will result in the LEDs turning on when it is starting to get dark.
- Click 'Apply' to save the settings.
- Click 'Maintenance' in the left menu.
- Click on the 'Restart' button
The changes take effect after the camera has restarted.
