However, it is possible that you cannot request the shared folders.
In this case you can approach the Sharebox through the following method:- Click on Start.
- Choose start search.
- Type the following: //IP-adres where you fill in the ip-address of the Sharebox.
- Press Enter.
You can now approach the folders. To make a network location of this location please do the following:- Click on the folder with the right mousebutton.
- Choose create a network connection.
- Select an available station and save the data.
You can now approach the folders through Windows Explorer and This Computer.

Open the EM4070's webpage. Go to 'Control Panel'. Open the Torrent module. Click 'Global Setting'. At 'Place torrent file in', fill in the following path: /ide1/public.Click 'Save' to save the altered settings.

You can install a Terabyte harddisk into the EM4070. This has been tested with a Samsung HD103UJ (1000 Gb, 7200 rpm met 32 Mb cache) for example. Other Terabyte harddisks should also work fine with the sharebox.

Create a new directory in the Publicdirectory, for example Music or Video or Fotos .
Through the webpage of Twonkymedia you can locate the directory which need to be searched for content.
For example, go to http://192.168.1.100:9000, when your EM4070 has the ip address 192.168.1.100.
By Content Locations you can select a location with the button Browse. Select further /nmt, then /IDE1, then /Public and then the directory or subdirectory on the disc.

With every change (addition of files, or removing/renaming of files), the Twonky Mediaplayer has to renew the data. This can be done by using the ip address of the EM4070 with the addition :9000, for example http://192.168.1.100:9000| .
Click on the button Rescan content directories, on the mainpage of the mediaplayer. After this the musiclist will be refreshed. This can take several minutes, depending on the format of the hard disc and the number of musicfiles.
It is also possible to refresh the list automatically. At the buttom of the page you can enter a number of minutes as an interval between the refreshments. For example you can fill in 1440 when the refreshment has to be once a day.

When a harddisk is used for the first time in the EM4070, this disk must be formatted after booting.. This can be done at the webpage of the EM4070.
The disk will be formatted standard on EXT2 and the housing will create 3 partitions on the harddisk:
- Partition with software to manage the EM4070 (with e.g. Bittorrent and Twonky module).
- Partition with your files and maps
- Partition with swapfile for the system
The first partition is probably damaged or incomplete, therefore the webpage cannot be displayed. Its recommended to format the entire disk, or to empty partition 1.
The partitions are not visible normally when the EM4070 is connected by USB to the computer. The reason for this is that Windows/Macintosh does not have EXT2 support. With an external program this can be done as well. You can find the program on the following page:

This program will install and you will be able to read EXT2 and EXT3 partitions. Open this program and provide the partitions with a letter. When this is done you can reach the driveletters at My Computer or the Windows Explorer.
Data from the second partition can be copied as a backup, the first partition can be emptied. Unlock the USB cable and connect the EM4070 with the LAN cable to your pc again. Restart the EM4070 so that the software is installing again on the first partition.

You are probably using an IDE disk that has not been set as MASTER. For the EM4070 to function correctly IDE disks will need to be set as MASTER.
You set a disk as MASTER using the small jumper on the disk itself. The manner of setting this jumper differs per type and brand of the disk. Consult the manual of the disk to find out how you will need to set the jumper.
After setting the disk as MASTER you can no longer log in to the EM4070. You can solve this problem by re-formatting the hard disk. Note that all current data on the disk will be lost.
There are two ways to format the disk. You can connect the EM4070 to a USB port on your computer. The hard disk should appear under Disk Management in Windows. Remove all partitions and format the hard disk through the interface of the EM4070.
If you can not find the EM4070 in Disk Management when connected to the USB port, try the following:- Remove the disk from the EM4070.
- Delete all partitions (for instance by building the disk into your computer after which the disk will be seen by Disk Management).
- Put the disk back into the EM4070
- Format the disk again.

The best way to format the hard disk is when it has been installed into the enclosure, using the so-called Linux EXT32 format. a small partition for the Bittorrent and Twonky software will be automatically generated. The disk will be reachable from within your network as a SAMBA server. Do not use the NTFS format from your computer. The EM4070 is actually a small Linux server and can therefore not function well with NTFS.

You do not need to manually open any ports. If your modem/router is equipped with UPnP and this function is enabled, the EM4070 can open the ports for you. Consult the manual of your modem/router to find out how to enable UPnP. if this does not function or you wish to manually open the ports you can follow the instructions below:- Open your Internet browser (For instance Internet Explorer, Netscape or Firefox)
- Enter the IP address of the Sharebox in the address bar of the browser. For instance:http://192.168.1.100. The exact IP address can be found on the display of the EM4070.
- Enter the username and password (by default both are 'admin') and click Login.
- Click Control Panel in the upper menu.
- Click BT in the left menu.

Not all printer work with a printserver. There are several printers which only work with a direct control from the computer, or with another protocol which is not standard. Unfortunately this cannot be listed in a document, because of the amount of brands an models that are available.
Several HP printers are Host-based or GDI-based. This results in a malfunction with the printserver.
Several Canon printers acquire CAPT software to control the printer, this also results in a malfunction in most cases.Therefore, first check the specifications of your printer if the device works with Host-based, GDI or CAPT. If you do not know the specifications then you can search this information on the Internet, or inform at the manufacturer of the printer.
If there are some probloms with lost printtasks you van check the LPR bytecounting is enabled. Go to the propeties of the printer and then click the "Ports" tab. In this list the right printer most been selected. Click then on "Configure Ports". LPR bytecounting enabled most been selected.
If the IP-adres of the EM4070 is changed because the sharebox is restarted, then it isn't possible to print. To prevent it, you can set an static IP-adres at your shareboxOpen the Properties of your printer, click the Ports tab and click Configure Port. Disable the option LPR Byte Countng Enabled and save these settings. Try to print a test page. It should be printed immediately.

A small number of hard disks use a lot of current when turned on. Especially Samsung 'Spinpoint' SATA disks can use up to 2.7 ampere at startup. The EM4550 can deliver up to 2.0 ampere. If possible, use a disk that requires less amperes at startup.
